First premiering Off-Broadway in 1992, McDermott revitalized the piece in 2021, sharpening its language and deepening its portrait of Georgia O’Keeffe. Having toured across the U.S., Bermuda, and Mexico—from state-of-the-art theaters to festivals, universities, and even a barn—O’Keeffe! showcases McDermott’s dynamic talents as an actor and playwright. A prolific artist with over thirty plays to her name, McDermott is also an intimacy director, teaching artist, and musician, calling Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains home.
