How I Became a Pirate is a children's play based on the popular picture book, where a young boy named Jeremy Jacob is building sandcastles on the beach when a crew of comical pirates, led by Captain Braid Beard, arrive looking for someone to help them bury their treasure; they recruit Jeremy, taking him on a hilarious high-seas adventure where he learns about pirate life, the joys of adventure, but also the value of home and family, ultimately deciding to return to his normal life while cherishing the memories of his pirate escapade.
